"Greece,Bust and Broken"

A couple of days ago i was zapping and on bbc three this documentary was about to start. It seemed interesting so i decided to watch. Young reporter Stacey Dooley is making a series about how the economic crises is afecting our generation and how the three countries hit the most by it are dealing with things. First up was greece, then ireland and last japan. From a couple years to this part i've been hearing how greece is really bad and portugal comes right after, but after this show my whole perception of the crisis has changed. I came to the uk becouse there are no oportunities in my country, is true. Especially if you are a single mum. There is no such things as special treatment for us. So unless you have lots of money our a family that can help you the only option is to emigrate. I thought greece was like us, but i guess i was wrong. In comparison portugal isn't that bad. People still get medical help, kids still have help from our goverment to go to school. And so on. But not greece. I saw people who starve becouse they literally have nothing to eat! People living in pre built homes and going through the bins to find something they can use. Also something shocking is that just recently became the only country in the Eurozone that doesn't have council housing. They dismantled the department leaving 700 families without job and close to a million people lost their homes.and why? to give them to the bank. It really looks like a scean that you expect to see in a third world country but certanly not in the migthy Eurozone! I was shocked ! But the thing that stricked me the most was the young revolutionary people. They stay foot and wont leave their country. They have a sense of pride and a strength beyond believe. Becouse of them , i truly believe that there is still hope for greece. They deserve  it.
And congrats to Stacey Dooley and BBC three for such an eye opening show.

Pushchair choices

Right now, i have a few friends expecting babies and one of their worries, of course, is witch stroller to buy. when i had my first son, almost seven years ago, the one that everyone wanted was Quinnys. At that time they where around 500 euros so i didn't really gave them much thought. Too much for my pocket. So i got very happy when i inherited my nieces pushchair. It was baby blue, and easy to ride. When i had some spare money i bought a chicco one. Really nice. But it only lasted for a few weeks, i left it in the taxi and never got it back. But anyways, that's a diferente story. As my friends sometimes ask me for opinions on which one to buy i decided to do my research. so, if i had a child now this where the ones to consider:

Hauck "turbo" around £80
It's the best one i ever had, and believe me, i had quite a few! It wasn't expensive, it has a really nice colour and after a year it still has lots of live in it! It's practical and really nice to go out and about since is light and folds nicely. My daughter loves it too.

Quinny "buzz" around £500
my sister has this one, so has many of my friends, i wouldn't buy it for this price because i feel like it doesn't grow with the child. is very comfortable to drive and i'm sure is comfortable for the kids too. But it doesn't adapt to the childs growth so it's only good until 2 years of age maximum.

Chicco "i-move" around £500
The newest model from chicco, one of my favourite childrens brand in every way, it's similar to stokke but much less expensive. A good candidate in my eyes.

 Stokke "explorer" around £1200
This scandinavian award winning design doesn't come cheap but it's said to climb stairs and to adapt to every need of your child as it "grows with him".  i actually see a lot of these around and i worked with a company that sell them some 3 years ago and i have to say, in the expensive grade, this is the one i would buy.

Silver cross "Balmoral" £ 1300
Built in northern england for more then 100 years, this is also one of the most expensive baby carriage in the world and one of celebrities favourites. Each one comes with a unique serial number and they are handcraft. However, this is certanly not my favourite.

"the roddler" around $ 4500
Made in the u.s.a is the most expensive pushchair money can buy. Featuring custom seats, wheels, colours, you name it. You can even write your kids name in it. but i'm just kidding, i would never buy it. It's too "new money" for me(lol)

Socks suck!

I always had this theory that in a house, there is no such thing as too many socks. so every time i see a pack of socks i tend to buy it .it's horrible not having clean socks to go with your outfit! but lately i was getting lazy and i wasn't binning the ones with holes and i couldn't be bothered to matching them all so i ended up with a basket full. but after one hour of sorting socks i think i'm gonna drop my theory...

H&M sales madness

H&MH&M

was always one of my favourite high street shops. I started to buy there at about 7 years ago and i mainly bougth baby stuff. It was the cheapest for kids and it had good value for money. Especially in sales time. after a while i started going to the ladies section and boy, was it love at first sight! Every single collection since then its totally me and i just love shoping there. So today on my way to work i realised that the sales were on and i just couldn't resist...

My new babies

I wanted to buy a pair of hunter boots for ages but there was never a good oportunity to do so, either because in portugal doesn't rain that much and therefore it never really seem necessary our because i was never in the mood to try them. but last week, and since it's been raining cats and dogs in the uk, i bought a pair. They are a metallic pewter color so they pretty much go with everything i have. i wore them already and i absolutly LOVE them.

The Queens diamond jubilee

A couple of months ago i won some tickets for the Queens diamond jubilee celebrations and i didn't really understood what they were for. After some research i found out that this was a big deal and i was going to be in a stand just in front of the palace and watch the celebrations from a privileged spot. I am a very enthusiastic person and love all things festive so this was just what i needed to cheer me up.
My sister was supposed to come with me but she couldn't and so at the last minute i decided to go alone. And i did. It was awsome to see how patriotic the english people is and  how much love they have for the queen,is beautiful and words can't describe it quit well. It was, no doubt, a very very well spent day.

The 5 things i did this month to be happier

1* Binned all my ugly old knickers, those ones that i wouldn't dare wearing in the gym ,and that make me think " if something happens today and i have to end up in hospital, please God don't let them see them" (lol)
and replaced them for brand new all cotton c.k. ones
2*Bought a pair of hunters that i wanted for soooo long
3*Went to london alone for the diamond jubilee and then stopped over in my cousins for a cup of tea (lovely time)
4*Signed up for driving lessons (aleluia!!!)
5* Bought a bike, even though i can't ride, but im determined to learn!

I know this doesn't sound exciting, but for me, every single one of them made me a happier person this month :)
