Cristo Redentor

This is my latest acquisition (literary, just bought it on-line), and i can't wait to have it on my neck. It's from the Portuguese blogger Ana Garcia Martins (http://apipocamaisdoce.clix.pt/) and it's a replica of one she bought in Rio de Janeiro earlier this year. Besides being gorgeous and simple is has double meaning to me. From where i grew up in Portugal you can see the Cristo Rei statue and it remindes me of home, also like i said before i plan on going to Rio next year and this surely makes me excited about visiting the real deal, Cristo redentor! Oh holidays, hurry up please!

Lana del Rey face of H&M

OK, since i already posted about Anna Dell Russo H&M collection, i might as well post about Lana. I'm not a big fan of the girl but i gotta admit she has bags of style which she calls "gangsta Nancy Sinatra". When the pictures and the windows came out i thought that is was very Lana but not very me, until i saw this outfit in a bus stop advert. I just had to have it! Isn't it just adorable ?!

Anna del Russo for H&M

I mentioned here before my love for H&M, what i didn't mention was my love for Anna Dello Russo. Now the two got into a very nice collaboration, and it couldn't be any more all over the place, and at the same time, so put together, much like Anna her self. You have turquoise luggage ( me want!), alligator necklaces, baroque details , orange and pearl jewelry mixed with animal print... I'm sure her inspiration was Walt Disney princess Ariel, but i love it! In whole, the collection has around 50 items and they are all gorgeous but affordable. Any fashionista dream. The collection hits stores world wide on 4th of October, ( which is also my payday lol) and i'm sure gonna be there at 9 am!

My bucket list

I think that everyone, more our less, has a bucket list. Some kind of to do list before you die. mine as been about travelling. I have a number of different places i want to go before i leave this life. Obviously, i would like to finish my studies, see my kids grow up and have kids of their own, start a business, adopt a child, and so on... but travelling has to be top of my list. Here are some of the must go places for me:

  • Mozambique, were my roots come from. Is just somewhere i really have to go, besides, i'm sure is gorgeous!

  • Second is Brazil. I grew up with a lot of Brazilian people around me and i feel like it's somehow part of me. I just now i'm not gonna be disappointed. I already now the whole city of Rio de Janeiro from the research i did and just from watching so many programs on TV. If everything goes according to plane i'll go in 2013 :)

  • In third has to be New York! All throughout my childhood i was bombarded with TV shows, films, commercials and etc... seeing does skyscrapers, the smoke in the streets, the glamour and the crowded streets i just couldn't help falling in love with that city.

  • Forth place is Italy. Is so close but somehow so far. I think is one of does trips that is just gonna happen, so i don´t really make many planes.

After this i would like to go to Prague, all of France, Amsterdam, if possible California, Australia, mexico, Cuba, Vietnam and a few others. So ideally for me, i would go to at least one of this every years until i get fed up with travelling ( as if =D ).In the meanwhile, i keep doing the normal. Just going back home to Portugal every now and then and continuing to discover England, that has so much to offer!

Eyebrow threading

I have been doing my eyebrows with tweezers and wax since i was 13. A few years ago, in Lisbon, i saw a stand with some Brazilian girls threading eyebrows on the shopping mall and i got really curious, so i gave it a try. I have using this method ever since! it's the most precise, inexpensive, long lasting ,less painful of the three. so if you are septic about it, i think you should give it a go. It's brilliant! I only have one piece of advice, if, like me, you don't wanna end up with eyebrows the size of a dental floss line, make sure you make it clear to the beauty technician. The tend to get too carried away! I also found this text in a web site that i think illustrate the process really well:

" For those who have never heard about this technique, threading is a hair removal practice that uses a thread made of 100% cotton. The cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin, entwining hairs in the thread, which are then lifted quickly from the follicle. My experience was painless and it was certainly interesting to watch the beauty technician work the thread. Eyebrow threading originates from India and the Middle East region. It’s considered an ancient art of hair removal that has been practiced for centuries among the most beautiful women of Asia and the Middle East. This technique can help you get that ‘arch-with-attitude’ look that you’ve been looking for, as well as help tidy up the temple, upper lip and other facial areas. Recommended by many dermatologists, if you are someone with sensitive skin and suffer breakouts from waxing or harsh depilatory creams, you will find relief after switching to threading. Eyebrow threading is very precise and allows the beauty specialists greater control than compared to waxing, giving you a more attractive eyebrow shape."

One image is worth more then 1000 words

My kids holding hands in the middle of the crowd in london ♥ true love!

Desculpa

Desculpa, estamos no verão.

Empty nest sindrome

These days, the classic description of lingering depression, apathy, and loss of identity ("Who am I if I'm not taking care of the kids?") it's hitting me like a lightning bolt. They have been away for 2 weeks now and i've never been alone in my life! coming from a family of 10 siblings and having my son at a very young age, being alone never even crossed my mind. It's the first time ever i've been away from my kids more then a couple of days and i feel like my world is going to collapse! I can't take two more weeks of this . Every one is saying this is good, that i need to get used to it as it's gonna happen more times from now on and mainly that i should find the time to rediscover myself and take care of me. But being a mom is not only what i do, is WHO I AM! And although some people would think it's sad a women as young as me is writing this, is true! They are everything for me and i can't live without them. Thank god there is still at least 12 more years until my son goes to college, because this will require some getting used to!

This has been a really strange week for me, it look's longer then usual. After a good week of holidays abroad i get the news that my grandmother, the women who brougth me up from crib, passed away. And it's like someone took the floor below my feet. I've cried like a baby all week but now is time to get on with my life and just think she's in a better place. Just hope it gets easier in time. DIY persnonalised bag

I have always wanted a personalised bag. For me is like a must have piece for everyone. But they are normally too expensive and this days of mass production is not easy to find a place that does them anymore. Louis Vuitton has gorgeous ones with many diferente combinations of stile, font , colour, etc... but the one i want retails at around 700£, and honestly, there is other things i rather spend my money on. So, since i can't find a affordable personalised bag i did one myself. i simply bought the leather bag, some letter stencil from a stationary store and a golden permanent pen and i have a bag that i absolutly LOVE.

Paris, here i come!

I don't know paris, even though my step father is french, and it's one of the places to go in my bucket list .So, as the kids are going to their father for a few weeks and the bank holiday weekend is just around the corner, i decided this is a good oportunity to go. And i am going alone, to the city of love, but i don't really care about that parte. i'm sure it's going to be magical.

Blackberry our Iphone? Hum...

I am addicted to my phone. I admit. If i leave the house without it i don't care were i'm going our if i'm going to be late, i'll come back to get it. I don't need the last model and i can't do touch screan, believe me i've tried, so i have a blackberry and i love it. it's my baby and my whole life is in it. i always feel like bb users and iphone users have a certain revalry and so i am a self proclaimed bb lover. but lately i can't help but lean over to the enemy side and admit that the iphone is so much more functional in so many different ways. And with acessories like the new i pad cover from louboutin i am falling in love with the idea of having one really fast.... Sorry bb , but it's time for your retirement.

Thanks mom !

When on holidays last may, i saw this super chic flats in Zara but because i had already bought so much i tought i would buy them back here in the uk. But litlle did i know the adventure it would be to find them! When i came back i started looking in every Zara from north to south but i couldn't find them and they weren't in site no more! My heart was broken... but i still had some hope so i went online looking for a picture and posted it on Facebook hoping that someone would spot it .I even offered a reward (hahaha) and my mom, god bless, found them and made sure they came home to me where they belong :) so now we are a happy family! Cheers mom x

Summer Bible

Yesterday i left the kids at my sister´s with the excuse that i needed to find a cabin size luggage for the holidays at a good price. That was one of the reasons, of course, but i also hit the high street free of worries and willing to spend. i got lost in zara, miss selfridge, Topshop, H&M, etc... after all does i realised that i still didn't had my luggage so i went into tkmaxx and made some compulsory shopping ( i know...i know...bad girl). one of them was a book that just called my name for a reason and i bought it without reading the preface. OMG , its the must have book. how did i miss it for so long? i love her funny stile and it has the best reviews from the top people in fashion and not only. I obsessed over it last night and couldn't get enough of it.  its gonna be a great company for does long days on the beach.  Definitely go and pick up your copy of  A girl for all seasons!
